This is the second half of our March newsletter to tell you of achievements by our coaching kids.
Well done, kids! Trevor
Avoca Beach Tennis Club Junior ReportI would like to report on our junior’s results over the last month (February). There have been some outstanding performances by many juniors in local and state tournaments. This has culminated in selections for touring teams and many players representing the region in tennis.
Overall there have been many outstanding results and personal bests by many competitors. I would like to thank everybody, including the committee, for their continued support of our tennis school. I would also like to thank our team of coaches, Alex Lynch and Anthony Hook for contributing to all of these results.
Regards, Craig Lumsden
This month you'll soon get a special newsletter because we're keen to bring news of achievements of our coaching kids and the challenge competition. Please take the time to read on, following is news about changes to court hire fees, how you can help as things are heating up with our request for more courts, and account balances. We still don't have a President so why not come to the next Committee meeting - 9th March to see how things work?
You may have noticed that Mick has changed the name of the video shop, it is now Avoca Beach Video. He has also found that he is spending a lot of time on tennis enquiries and transactions that could be done online. We want to encourage members to do things online, without imposing an agent fee. From March there will, however be a $2 agent fee on Casual Users who book through the agent. This will take the casual rate to $12 ($10 online) which is the same as other courts nearby.
There is no change to member rates at this stage but as an incentive to book online we are offering a bonus $20 for bulk payments made in March. Account payments of $100 (or more), will get the bonus if the member intends to book online to use that credit or if it is used to pay for a permanent booking. The bonus will be automatically credited on the Friday following payment. Members should monitor balances online regularly.
Our meeting with Council regarding more courts has made one thing clear - we have to convince them that we need more courts. We are working on that in any way we can and would like you to sign a petition. You can find it in Avoca Beach Video, Raine and Horne, Welcome Mart, and North Avoca General Store. We are also delivering these locally by a letterbox drop. While trying to establish the need for more courts we're working on finding a site to put them, a problem that has been caused by Council's lack of planning.
